    Explore 150 years of Jewish culture and history in British Columbia at the new Jewish Museum and Archives of BC.

    Interact with members of the Jewish community, past and present, in the Museum’s interactive permanent exhibit. Visitors will meet:

    Louis Gold, Gastown merchant, who jumped into Burrard Inlet to escape Vancouver’s Great Fire of 1886.
    David Oppenheimer, the second mayor of Vancouver, who has been called the “Father of Vancouver” and who procured the land for, and officially opened, Stanley Park.
    The men and women who have been peddlers, business owners, war veterans, volunteers in charitable organizations, members of municipal councils, a premier of the province and, very likely, your neighbour down the street.
    Learn more about British Columbia’s Jewish history through feature exhibits and programs. Visit our gift shop for books and gifts related to Jewish history and culture. For a taste of kosher food, visit the Nava Café, located onsite.

    Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 10 am to 5 pm. Closed statutory and major Jewish holidays.

  • We stayed at the Days Inn Downtown Vancouver and thought the service was great and the room was even better. You can't beat the location. We were going to a concert at GM Place and were within walking distance. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants a good quality room at an affordable cost.
