  • I've stayed in the Days Inn Downtown Vancouver back in the 1980's. I am writing a series of articles about the beer parlours and hotels of downtown Vancouver and have a number of historic images, postcards and brochures of this great old hotel. I regret not bidding on an Abbotsford Hotel lighter from the 1940-1950's.

    Our family have just unearthed a diary my grandparents wrote when they stayed in Vancover in 1918 on the way to Australia.They mention they stayed at the Abbotsford hotel --- the hotel must have only just opened -- they say it is a fine up to date place with a wash bowl in every room.I even have the date they stayed.
    I will have to get over there one day
