History of Days Inn Vancouver Downtown

The Days Inn Vancouver Downtown was formerly known as the Abbotsford Hotel & Cafe.

The hotel was built in 1914, and has been a hotel since 1918. At that time it was the tallest 9 storey building. What is really interesting is that in those old days, the hotel actually had a shared bathroom on each floor, down the hallway for the guests.

We are going to post some old old pictures of the hotel after it was built that we found and also some old menus that we found too. Stay tuned for the posting of these now considered historical hotel artifacts of Vancouver!

  • We stayed at the Days Inn Downtown Vancouver and thought the service was great and the room was even better. You can't beat the location. We were going to a concert at GM Place and were within walking distance. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants a good quality room at an affordable cost.
