Summer is upon us!

What better way is there to celebrate summer with everyone’s favorite hot weather?

BOOZY DRINKS!

No, we will save that for another blog.

We’re talking ICE CREAM!

Vancouver has recently become home to many great ice cream shops and we want to help you find them. We’d offer to bring it to you, but we would probably eat it before it made it to you. Yes, it's that good!
Since you are on vacation, you may not want to venture too far for the ice cream. So this post is all about local downtown ice cream shops and we will start off with our favorites.

Bella Gelateria
A long-time staple in Downtown Vancouver
under the helm of James Coleridge, Bella Gelateria became world-renowned accumulating many internati
onal awards. While Mr. Coleridge has moved on (more on that later) the Gelato is still great. Bella Gelateria also happens to be the closest ice cream shop to the hotel if you're looking for an ice cream treat nearby.

Location1001 W Cordova St, Vancouver, BC V6C 0B7

 Uno Gelato
Remember James Coleridge? Of course, you do, we just mentioned him; James is back at it with Uno Gelato. Uno offers fresh daily gelato made with locally sourced organic ingredients. They’ve teamed up with Mahoney and Sons so you can enjoy a great meal and top it off with some Gelato for dessert.

Soft Peaks
Who doesn’t love soft serve? Well, Soft Peaks makes it even better by creating a fresh, organic soft serve ice cream. They use locally sourced dairy from the Avalon Dairy farm to create a healthier version of an old favorite. They also care about the environment, everything from the toppings to the napkins is locally sourced and compostable to reduce their carbon footprint.

Location: 25 Alexander St, Vancouver, BC V6A 1B2

  Cacao 70 Dip Shop
If dip cones are your thing, then look no further. Cacao      70  started out in Montreal as a Chocolate Drink bar and    since then, they have expanded all across Canada. The    Cacao 70 Dip Shop offers a variety of chocolate dips made by their own master Chocolatiers in Montreal,     including flavors such as Peanut Butter, Chai, Matcha      and more.

Mister
Artisan Ice Cream will make your ice cream on the spot. Using rapid cooling with liquid nitrogen, Mister's ice cream is creamier and smoother due to its unique process. This place is full of exciting flavors and forms like the lemon meringue ice cream bar on the right.

Location: 1141 Mainland St, Vancouver, BC V6B 5P2

If you are a little more adventurous there are some great ice cream spots outside of Downtown Vancouver as well.

Earnest Ice cream
Earnest is a local favorite and the line ups late into the night prove it. Their ice cream is small batch and quite frankly delicious. Vegan options are also available and tasty, so why not give it a try?

Location: 1829 Quebec St, Vancouver, BC V5T 2Z3

La Casa Gelato
Couldn’t find your favorite flavor at the other shops? La Casa probably has it, with over 200 flavors in house.

Location1033 Venables St, Vancouver, BC V6A 3R9

Rain or Shine
If you love ice cream, you have to be willing to go out to Rain or Shine. This place is another local favorite located in the beautiful Kitsilano neighborhood. It’s definitely worth the trip!

Location: 1926 W 4th Ave #102, Vancouver, BC V6J 1M6
